1. What Bookisham is
Bookisham is a private, members-only digital library. Books are read inside the Bookisham app or website; they are never downloaded as files. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.
2. Your account
You must give a real name, a working phone number and email address, and keep your password private. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
An account may be signed in on one device at a time. Signing in on a new device signs the previous one out.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used to share or copy books, or is used to make fraudulent payment claims.
3. Buying access to a book
Prices, and any discount, are shown on each book before you pay. Payment is made by UPI to the ID shown in the app; you then attach a screenshot of the payment as proof and submit a purchase request.
A request is reviewed by hand and normally approved within 24 hours. Approval grants your account the right to read that book inside the service; it does not transfer any file or copyright to you.
If a request is rejected and money was actually debited from you, we will refund it. Contact us with your payment details if you believe a rejection was a mistake.
Purchases are for personal reading and are not refundable once access has been granted, except where the law requires otherwise.
4. Using the books
Every book is licensed to you personally and may not be shared, lent, resold, copied, printed, screenshotted, recorded or otherwise extracted from the service. Pages are watermarked with your account details.
The app and website use technical measures (such as blocking screenshots and covering pages when the app is not in front) to protect the books. Attempting to bypass them is a breach of these terms.
5. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise it will be available at all times. Books may be added or withdrawn from the library. We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when they last changed, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
6. Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, Bookisham is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
